A FUN DAY OUT FOR ALL THE FAMILY ON DARTMOOR!

SUNDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2011

GUEST CELEBRITY START MARSHAL: ANN WIDDECOMBE (BBC TV'S "STRICTLY COME DANCING")

THE ROUTE
The route will be approximately 60 miles around Dartmoor, through the National Park on public open roads. (Please note that speed is not the object of this rally and no timing will be permitted. Vehicles should be kept to the legal road speed limit, or lower, at all times).

ELIGIBILITY
The Macmillan Centenary Dartmoor Rally and Scatter Quiz is an event for road-going motor vehicles, owner taxed and insured. Drivers need only have a normal UK driving licence. Passengers may be of any age. Please bring as many passengers as your vehicle will legally hold!

CHARITY DONATION
Entry will be a minimum donation of £1 per vehicle and £5 each driver and £5 per passenger, to Macmillan Cancer Support. Any further donations will be very gratefully received.

RALLY START
The Rally start will be at Chagford Market Ground OS map reference (OL 28) SX712885 in Devon. Post code for SatNav: TQ13 8DR.

Rally start time for the first car will be 11am. The last car will leave at 2pm. Please arrive in good time before 2pm.

Vehicles will start in random order at approximately 1 minute intervals, and between 11am and 12.15pm will be flagged off by our celebrity guest Ann Widdecombe.

Chagford Market Ground will open at 10am, 1 hour before the rally start time. There will be toilet facilities available and a cafe will be offering refreshments at the site. A holding area will be provided for cars arriving before the start time. Please take any rubbish home with you.

Entrants will collect their paperwork on registration at the Market Ground. This will include a random entry number, instructions, route notes and navigational scatter (treasure hunt) clues.

THE QUIZ
The route will be set as a 'Navigational Scatter' quiz. This designation (Road Traffic Act 1988), means that entrants may officially start at any point on the given route. Clues will be set along the route with a space on the quiz sheet to fill in answers.

THE PRIZE
A week for two in a luxury Gite in Brittany, France* (see
www.dinan22.com). The winner will be the first correct entry drawn out of a hat. The winner will be notified within 1 week of the rally date.
