Newton Abbot’s Marks and Spencer store is set to close at the end of the month – and now bosses have hinted that there are more closures to come.
The South Devon store will close its doors for the final time on July 28, 2018 and all 44 staff who work at the store will be redeployed to nearby outlets.
John Dorrington, head of region for South West at Marks & Spencer, said: “The decision to close M&S Newton Abbot was a difficult one.
“All our hard-working colleagues will be redeployed and continue to serve customers at nearby stores.
“We understand many of our local customers will be disappointed.
“We will continue to serve the community from our Torbay store which is just six miles away and offers our full clothing and home range, as well as an M&S Café.”
